Political parties avoid spending votes for personal progress

TEHRAN, Feb. 26 (MNA) – Expediency Council Secretary Mohsen Rezaei recommended the political parties and factions not to spend the Iranian nation’s votes for their personal progress.

Talking to the reporters on Election Day, Rezaei said elected nominees must work for the progress of Islamic Republic and the nation.

“The turnout rate in this election is more than that in the last parliamentary elections,” he underlined.

He described Iranians as the most political nation in the world, who thinks beyond political parties and well understand the interests of the country.

“The major outcome of massive turnout will strengthen Iran’s international ties,” Rezaei said, adding people will show the world that the Islamic Republic follows the same track and will not change its direction.
